Committees and Appointments of the Diocese
One of the most important moments of each Diocesan Convention is the election of individuals to the various bodies that manage and conduct the business and ministries of the Diocese. Except for the Trial Court, all our committees include lay as well as clergy members.
- The Standing Committee handles matters of the clergy and ecclesiastical authority.
- The Trustees of the Diocese provide financial, custodial, trust, and investment services for the diocese.
- The Constitution and Canons Committee deals with all matters relating to the constitution and canons of the diocese.
- The Trial Court deals with the adjudication of ecclesiastical matters.
- The Diocesan Council is responsible for program and budget for the work and mission of the diocese. Click here to read short biographies and see photographs of those elected to Council in 2009.
- General Convention Deputies represent the diocese at the Episcopal Church’s triennial conventions. Four clergy deputies and four clergy alternates; as well as four lay deputies and four lay alternates, are elected to represent the diocese.
- The Nominating Committee is charged with putting forth a slate of candidates to fill the offices.
